Who We Are
We’re a group of passionate, nerdy, tech-y startup and business veterans who want more out of life than a golden parachute and Silicon Valley accolades. We see life through a lens of mission and human outcomes and we see a huge opportunity to accelerate impact for mission-first orgs. We pull from our own experiences in the crucible of tech startups and time spent in the melting pots of nonprofits. We’re scattered across the US and mostly work remotely.
Our secret strength is we’re super serious about our mission, but not as much about ourselves. That’s why we have Rico. He keeps us honest.
What We Do
We accelerate impact. We’re an online community and learning platform. We connect and teach nonprofits and impact-driven organizations how to become more effective and impactful in their work, individually and organization-wide.
We’re not here to help everyone. We would rather take 1% that are super hungry and radically multiply their impact than attempt to help everyone just a little.
Why?
The high-stakes pursuit of profits has an interesting side effect. It produces a unique pressure and environment to find efficiencies and methods for increasing profits that wouldn’t be discovered otherwise. We were ‘raised’ in that environment and speak the local language.
Living in that world though teaches you to really see. And so we also see the pain in the world, the need for change, the opportunity for really meaningful ‘ventures’ – the kind that humanity needs. But we also see that those most passionate about the causes of the world are more often than not using tools, methods and strategies that just aren’t effective. There’s so much effort being expended for not enough return. And we just can’t ignore it. We’re compelled and driven to take what we know and unlock it for good.
Where We’re Going
So here’s the vision. While capitalism relentlessly mines the human condition to understand it for exploitation, that same process creates insights that can be leveraged for good. We’re creating our own environment for acceleration. We’re mining for impact. We’re imagining an online social and learning experience that moves nonprofits into fast-moving currents that take them places they never thought possible. We believe we can do this, not just for a few organizations, not just in the USA, but for every individual and group that’s hungry enough to demand more. About the Founder
Todd has led product and marketing at startups in Silicon Valley, Hong Kong, Tel Aviv, and Austin. He’s led teams from India, China, Eastern Europe, the UK, and Canada. He’s also worked with a number of nonprofits, and that’s where his passion really lies. Todd spent years in Education Technology (Edtech) and saw the same mistakes and lost opportunities repeated over and over again, which led to Nonprofit Ninja’s unique community approach to learning.
